On Thursday, U.S. time, according to NFL Network reporters, the Packers will join their first-round pick of the year, Georgia defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt and schoolmate linebacker Quay Walker. Sign a rookie contract.
Wyatt’s contract is $12.86 million over four years, including a $6.533 million signing bonus and a fifth-year contract option. Walker’s rookie contract is four years, $13.84 million, including a $7.246 million signing bonus and a fifth-year contract option.
Wyatt was not only the first first-rounder to sign this year, but also the second official signing in this draft. The only sign previously signed was Amare Barno, a sixth-round pick from the Panthers, a pass rusher from Virginia Tech.
A total of 15 people were selected for the University of Georgia this year, setting a record in the history of the seven-round draft. Walker and Wyatt were also two of the five defensive players selected in the first round.
